The concrete jungle

My grandpa always says to dream the impossible dreams. That’s where the impossible becomes achievable, and dreams become reality. I grow up trying to figure out what my dream really is, until I realize what I really want in the near future. I guess most of us girls dream of New York. And yes, I do too! My reason may sound silly, but i just love how the socialite life looks like in the Gossip Girls series. The clothes, the restaurant, even the huzzle buzzle of the city. Not only that, New York seems to be the place for me. With my dream to be a banker and my love for pretty clothes, what more could I ask from New York?

Around a month ago, I saw this contest by Fimela and Tresemee where I can compete with fashionistas in Indonesia to go to New York with Sonia Eryka, Anastasia Siantar and Andien to witness, with my own eyes, the incredible New York Fashion Week. Yes, New York baby! Without thinking I joined the contest and happily passed the first challenge. Then only I come to a realization that I can’t go any further. I have studies to do, and worse, visa to apply. This is just not my time :-( Was a bit disappointed that I could not even try, but I keep telling myself that when my time comes, I will go to New York.

Only a week later I found out that a friend of mine joins the same contest. Maybe this time I can just support her and hope she could make it to the final. So frienzies, please help my friend, Chrisnawati Novia by voting for her. Just use your computer and head over to *here*. Click vote and done! The voting period ends on 17 July, so hurry up and tell your family and friend to vote for her as well.

For the time being, let me just share my New York spring street style inspired when I went to Jogjakarta last weekend.

Looking Forward

I'm currently in the middle of my final exam and I wish I could just go home. Maybe that's what has been on my mind for the past few days, especially after my third paper. The last one, which has a 6-days gap, is the hardest yet I already feel tired of being underpressure and stressed for the past one month. And I really can't wait to enjoy my holiday, going back to the beloved metropolitan city, Jakarta.

However, I try my best and try so hard to survive for this one. And I thought doing the thing I love the most could help. Since I know I can't really enjoy places outside Sunway area, I decided to put in literal "dressing up for myself" and dragged my little sister for a short photo taking session.

I can say this post features everything new, from head to toe, from my shopping breaks in between studies during my SWOT Vac and exam period. I was trying so hard to hide all the tags, I hope I succeeded in this :)

I love this outwear from BerryBenka I got a month ago. The drapery effect when I wear it is just perfect, though I had doubt when I ordered it. But it turns out great!

And oh, about this wedges! I saw this almost 6 months ago from Vinci and I love it at the first sight. It feels very comfortable, and the straps make it looks edgy. The colors combination is just nice; the combination I usually wear. However, I had to let it stay on the racks as I have bought a pair on the same week, which led me to regrets as I didn't see the pair on the week after. I had to see it at VNC Jakarta with ridiculous price (I can tell you, the Vinci here has better prices), before then I see it again at Vinci, on 50% sale! Yes ladies and gentlemen, 50%! I guess good things come to those who wait :p

By the way, wish me luck on this last paper! I really need those mark.

Black and White

Hello lovelies,

My weeks have been busy, exciting but also tiring lately. From assignments due, to short trip to my hometown for the weekend, until the days I spent here in Malaysia without internet. And final exam period is coming soon so I guess I would face the sleepless nights soon. However, it also means that I'll be home (again) very soon! So excited to see my little miss Pixie running around the house.

I should stop talking (or writing) before I bore you to dead. Here are the pictures I took few weeks back with my secretly talented photographer/housemate, featuring the in-trend black and white stripes. I just love how the pattern can simply emphasize my body shape, no matter if it is horizontally or vertically. On of the best item to have this season!

Welcome to the club 20s!

Last friday was by birthday. And yes I'm officially 20 now, no longer a teenager. I don't really know what I feel, it's like a combination of excited and scared. I'm excited of what to comes, yet scared of the responsibilities that come with it.

 photo 810f12bb-8696-4aa6-8f4e-532853244aa3.jpg

However, I'm so grateful for the opportunities and bless I receive until today. Everything is just great. I'm surrounded by loving families, great true friends and also a caring boyfriend. Studies have been simply satisfying, and everything just seems like fall to its place, nicely.

And to start my 20s, I've came up with list of changes to come. And the first is to change my blog header. Scroll up if you have not noticed! :D I would work hard on my blog as well, so I can share what I like the most with more people. Take better pictures, learn English for the sake of better grammar, learn photography, maybe take a fashion photography class. Though I know I might not pursue fashion as my career, but looking at the degree of stress I would face in my (hopefully) future career as a banker (thousand Amens), I think this could be the best place to de-stress.

The list does not stop there. It is surely going to be an extremely long post if I write here one by one. But I have swore to myself, my 20s would be the best decade ever!

Lovelove,

Monash Cultural Night 2013

Hi my pretty people :)

I'm writing this in the middle of my assignments madness. I have 3 assignments due last week and 1 exam, and another one tomorrow, I have not done a thing because I was busy preparing my uni's largest event of the semester (hopefully year :p). I'm tired of reading articles and researches so I guess I deserve a break now.

I was one of the event directors of Monash Cultural Night, and happened to be the only girl. It was a blast! Everything went well thought we had few hiccups a bit here and there. The tickets were sold out a day before; which was an achievement for us, and yet we still had to reject people. I was in charge of fashion show and decoration. And I have to say, the whole fashion show was incredible! Pretty people in interesting clothes, what more could I ask? And plus, we had a guest from The London Boys, Mark Odea!

What I Wear Fashion Blogger Gathering

My weekend was great I must say! I have been feeling a little bored and not excited about my daily routine and just in time I got my way back to what I love; fashion. An invitation to meet up with lovely bloggers in Malaysia is something I am really grateful for. As first, I'm not very active in blogging (but I am trying :)), and second, I don't think I can inspire people like they do.

However, I came to the place where they asked me to come to, out of curiosity. I really wanted to know them more and maybe gain some knowledge in maintaining such fashion blog. It was a great time, and they are really amazing. We had talks, picture taking sessions, and activities to build a community of fashion and art in general.

Anyway, in case you might wondering, WhatIWear is a fashion community based in Indonesia. It is a platform to inspire and be inspired, where blogger and fashion lovers all over the world would meet. I already fall in love with their vision, totally! Keep in touch and check my blog more often to find out more what WhatIWear.

Beware : prepare your eyes for lots of pictures! :) Thought some might be blurry as this girl right here did not bring her camera. *sob

Bandung, I miss!

I lived in Bandung for about 10 years. Practically, I grew up there. Bandung has always been a nice place to live. Cold weather, cheap and tasty foods, nice affordable clothes. And also Bandung is known for its art. People here are so creative and innovative!

My visit to Bandung is usually considered as culinary trip. The shopping experience here is undoubtedly incredible, but the foods are just too tasty to be missed. There are some specific foods we have to have everytime we go to Bandung; like batagor Kingsley, Mie Ayam Apin and strawberry juice. I can't remember when was the last time I went to Bandung, but I found these old photos which I believe describe my usual trip there the best.

I went there with my brother and my parents. We reached Bandung too early so decided to find breakfast. We did not have so many options, but luckily we found Kafe Dacosta at Hotel Bumi Sawunggaling. The food was satisfying. Typical breakfast food I must say.

Move along, we visited the famous Rumah Mode for a quick shopping. Rumah Mode is a factory outlet, which provide various kind of pretty clothes for both gender. Throughout the years, it has transformed into a one stop shopping entertainment by providing restaurants and other shops. Rumah Mode is totally a place where you want to go cray cray and shop like mad. The choice and quality of the stuffs are amazing. Bear in mind the outlet usually jam packed on weekend. After done with shopping, I was feeling a little hungry, or my tummy just knew it was time for Mie Ayam Apin, I'm not sure. Mie Ayam Apin is sold just in front of Rainbow Factory Outlet. The mie ayam and strawberry juice are to die for! I can not leave this city without having some of those.

Few meters away from Rainbow, is this famous hang out place in Bandung, Paris Van Java. It is an outdoor concept mall, with hundreds of shops and restaurant. It is totally a one stop shopping destination for the shopaholics, giant food court for the food lovers, and absolutely a cool place for the coolios!
