The Start of Something New

 photo 017fec16-e31e-40ca-af0c-315c19c410a4.jpg
I'm back after a month holiday in Indonesia, where the internet is either running slow or not working at all. School starts only in March but I had to come earlier to settle my visa. Yes, I still don't have my visa yet. After all these 6 months of waiting and suffering, they decided to finally do the endorsement. Before I left Indonesia, I thought this endorsement process would be very easy and relieving. But I was wrong. The first hour I put my feet on Malaysia's ground, the whole chaos has decided to haunt me. I spent 3 hours at the airport's immigration office as I didn't prepare my flight ticket back. I did have the plan when to come back, but not the ticket. I don't want to blame anyone here, but I was just following my school's order. Yet when I called the international student service officer, I got not help or assistance on what to do. It was the longest 3 hours of my life. Glad I have upgrade my skill in typing on my touch-screen phone secretly, and I managed to message my sister to buy me a ticket home. I just couldn't spend another minute there. It was scary. And people there give this frightening feeling. No words could describe how I felt that time.

The whole chaos didn't stop there. The next day I found out few major changes in the rules which I wasn't informed. I had been trying to know any updates throughout my holiday by emailing them, calling, even I had to whatsapp them, which I would rather not to, in other circumstances. Yet nothing was told. I thought the 6 months I have spent would be a waste. I thought I had to repeat the whole application process and would be stuck for another 6 months.

Ended up I didn't have to. Through few arguments and pointing-fingers, I managed to get someone settle all the matters for me.

But I am still upset. I just have never felt trapped and helpless before. It felt like as if I was in a jail, but there was no bars or  walls around me. I had to be cautious all the time just in case there's a police or a road block or something. No, I wasn't an illegal student here. But not having my passport with me while I'm in other country, especially without a proper visa, I could not prove my good intention of staying here.

Anyways, what has been done is done. So glad this would be my last sem here (hopefully, and I will make it my last sem). I can't wait to move to a colder country for my postgraduate degree. Better, to a country with better and more effective student visa application procedures. I'm so excited for that, my outfits lately has been very cold-weather friendly.

Getting Ready for Surprises

My parents came last week for my sister's birthday! I could not wait and was so nervous as it was to surprise my sister. In the end everything went well. And I was very excited. Great weekend indeed.

The concrete jungle

My grandpa always says to dream the impossible dreams. That’s where the impossible becomes achievable, and dreams become reality. I grow up trying to figure out what my dream really is, until I realize what I really want in the near future. I guess most of us girls dream of New York. And yes, I do too! My reason may sound silly, but i just love how the socialite life looks like in the Gossip Girls series. The clothes, the restaurant, even the huzzle buzzle of the city. Not only that, New York seems to be the place for me. With my dream to be a banker and my love for pretty clothes, what more could I ask from New York?

Around a month ago, I saw this contest by Fimela and Tresemee where I can compete with fashionistas in Indonesia to go to New York with Sonia Eryka, Anastasia Siantar and Andien to witness, with my own eyes, the incredible New York Fashion Week. Yes, New York baby! Without thinking I joined the contest and happily passed the first challenge. Then only I come to a realization that I can’t go any further. I have studies to do, and worse, visa to apply. This is just not my time :-( Was a bit disappointed that I could not even try, but I keep telling myself that when my time comes, I will go to New York.

Only a week later I found out that a friend of mine joins the same contest. Maybe this time I can just support her and hope she could make it to the final. So frienzies, please help my friend, Chrisnawati Novia by voting for her. Just use your computer and head over to *here*. Click vote and done! The voting period ends on 17 July, so hurry up and tell your family and friend to vote for her as well.

For the time being, let me just share my New York spring street style inspired when I went to Jogjakarta last weekend.

Looking Forward

I'm currently in the middle of my final exam and I wish I could just go home. Maybe that's what has been on my mind for the past few days, especially after my third paper. The last one, which has a 6-days gap, is the hardest yet I already feel tired of being underpressure and stressed for the past one month. And I really can't wait to enjoy my holiday, going back to the beloved metropolitan city, Jakarta.

However, I try my best and try so hard to survive for this one. And I thought doing the thing I love the most could help. Since I know I can't really enjoy places outside Sunway area, I decided to put in literal "dressing up for myself" and dragged my little sister for a short photo taking session.

I can say this post features everything new, from head to toe, from my shopping breaks in between studies during my SWOT Vac and exam period. I was trying so hard to hide all the tags, I hope I succeeded in this :)

I love this outwear from BerryBenka I got a month ago. The drapery effect when I wear it is just perfect, though I had doubt when I ordered it. But it turns out great!

And oh, about this wedges! I saw this almost 6 months ago from Vinci and I love it at the first sight. It feels very comfortable, and the straps make it looks edgy. The colors combination is just nice; the combination I usually wear. However, I had to let it stay on the racks as I have bought a pair on the same week, which led me to regrets as I didn't see the pair on the week after. I had to see it at VNC Jakarta with ridiculous price (I can tell you, the Vinci here has better prices), before then I see it again at Vinci, on 50% sale! Yes ladies and gentlemen, 50%! I guess good things come to those who wait :p

By the way, wish me luck on this last paper! I really need those mark.

PS : keep reading for an update on my giveaway! *real eyes realize real lies*

Black and White

Hello lovelies,

My weeks have been busy, exciting but also tiring lately. From assignments due, to short trip to my hometown for the weekend, until the days I spent here in Malaysia without internet. And final exam period is coming soon so I guess I would face the sleepless nights soon. However, it also means that I'll be home (again) very soon! So excited to see my little miss Pixie running around the house.

I should stop talking (or writing) before I bore you to dead. Here are the pictures I took few weeks back with my secretly talented photographer/housemate, featuring the in-trend black and white stripes. I just love how the pattern can simply emphasize my body shape, no matter if it is horizontally or vertically. On of the best item to have this season!
